geocaching...

well, my gps arrived so i tried to go this evening to a local cache...but as fate would have it there was 6 high school kids (emo ftw) who were all but sitting right on top of where I needed to start my search ... so i had to pass on it for today as it would not be cool for them to muggle it ... and i had a sneaking suspicion that they would ...

i headed to another cache locally but the notes asked not to search after dark and it was starting to get late so i looked around for a few minutes and then headed out

so far the caches have beaten me, but not for long ...

what is geocaching (or geocaching )you ask? well, it's basically a game you play with your gps to find stuff that people have hidden ... i know i am years late getting into it, but better late than never...

now for the tech section...what gps did i get you ask? well, i got a refurbished GPSMAP 60CSx which is pretty awesome and has a section for geocaching, so hopefully with a little more practice i will start finding them

bug hell ...

so i spent most of my day tracking down the cause of a bug in some code (well, in the many thousands of lines of code) that i wrote ...

the good news is i am pretty damned sure i got it taken care of this time ... the bad news is it took me most of the workday to get it done as i had other things i had planned on having implemented by now.

however, launching a new site always means putting out little fires all over the place ... now hopefully this fire will not come up again ... but we shall see

what a day ...

work went well ... i got several issues sorted out that needed to be sorted out.

i went to dinner with daniel, sarah, and brandon ... but then afterward everything went downhill. on the drive back to drop off brandon before heading out to see my girlfriend kelly my car decided to shred the serpentine belt which makes it impossible to go see kelly ... and that makes me super sad :(

below is a picture of part of the shredded belt that blake was able to get untangled from the cars fan ... sadly it looks like i am going to have to tow the car to the shop and have them fix it monday which means i won't see kelly at all this weekend and that makes me super duper sad :( :(

also, i saw a really bad wreck where someone ran into a traffic light post and actually knocked the lights down. it was weird seeing traffic lights laying on the road ... i hope the drive is ok ... this day makes me sad :(
